HD-CVI PTZ

PTZ stands for Pan, Tilt, Zoom. These type of cameras are equipped with small electrical motors that allow the camera to move in another direction. Besides that, the lens is also equipped with motors to optically zoom in, which increases the detail in the image.

Control is done by mouse connected to recorder, app or PC software. You can also use a joystick controller to handle your PTZ cameras.

Do you still own an older analog PTZ camera that works well? These can still be used with HD-CVI recorders if you pick one with a green RS-485 connector. Most Dahua HD-CVI recorders in a black case have such connection.

It is possible to setup your recorder with motion detection (camera or alarm input) to trigger your PTZ camera and make it move to preprogrammed preset positions. For instance, a fixed dome camera sees motion, and triggers your PTZ to move to another position.
